Come alberi in movimento. Routes for new roots, strade per nuove radici.
Grazie,
Agnese e Angelo

Welcome in the cabinet of curiosities of Routes4newroots
In this space we will put together pieces of particular interest collected on the road and then elaborated for you in new, curious, unexpected forms. We will build this place on the model of the Wunderkammer2.
The Wunderkammer
By definition, a Wunderkammer is
“a real room of wonders where, in an undifferentiated mix of art and science, of naturalia and artificialia, the most unusual finds are associated with all sorts of man-made works, rarities, and wonders.”
The expression, of German origin, indicated particular rooms of the residences in which, between the 16th and 18th centuries, collectors used to keep objects that, thanks to their intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics, were extraordinary. The term indicates both the places used for the custody of these collections and the collections themselves - by metonymy. In short, a Wunderkammer is both the content and the container.
The concept of the museum as we know it today originates from these cabinets of curiosities: a place that arouses interest in the 'wonderful', while organizing it to satisfy the need for systematic knowledge.

Slowly
While today most of us scramble to have everything at once, we want to take it easy here. Not throwing everything at you today, but enjoying the journey, as we did in South-East Asia. Right now you find the room still empty, we will fill it together piece by piece. At the moment we plan to populate it with new content on a monthly basis, but we will feel free to be spontaneous with extras when feeling like it.
Why Routes4newroots
On a mountain road in northern Thailand we realized we were on a journey to make room, to let new roots find their way, create unexpected paths and grow in unfamiliar places. Like trees in motion. Routes for new roots.
Here, in short, where these months have brought us:
What happens next
The chamber is open - here Agnese, like a good Potterhead, would like to make a Hogwarts-themed joke, but she'll spare you. Talk to you very soon with the first pieces of the collection.
Thank you,
Agnese and Angelo
